SUMMARY:Navigating the Complexities of OCD and GAD
DESCRIPTION:Clinicians often report difficulty with navigating the differences and similarities between OCD and GAD when it comes to diagnostic decision-making and treatment planning. This intermediate-level course will provide clinicians with information that will assist them in their clinical decision-making. The course will begin with an in-depth discussion about the diagnostic criteria and characteristics of both OCD and GAD (e.g.\, common themes and subtypes\, epidemiology\, common behaviors\, thoughts and beliefs). The presenters will then cover the topic of comorbidity and differential diagnosis\, which includes assessment resources. The CBT conceptual model for both OCD and GAD will be presented along with treatment considerations for comorbid cases. The presentation will include case examples and responses to frequently asked questions about differential diagnosis and treatment planning. This course will focus on the adult population.
