The Roots of Sexual Deviance: Developmental Pathways, Risk Factors and Forensic Considerations

This is a continuing education workshop for mental health, forensic, legal, correctional, community-supervision professionals examining the developmental, psychological, behavioral, environmental factors associated with sexually deviant thoughts/behaviors. For purposes of this workshop, the term sexual deviance is used within a forensic, court, probation, correctional, and criminal-offense context to describe sexually harmful, prohibited, or offense-related behavior. It is not used as a clinical diagnosis and should not be interpreted as synonymous with a paraphilia or paraphilic disorder.
